Start with a routine that fits your day

A menstrual cup can be one option for parents moving between work, family tasks, and exercise. It is not automatically more comfortable or convenient for everyone: fit, flow, access to a bathroom, and confidence with insertion and removal all matter.

Plan changes around your flow

Elys Cup may be worn for up to 8 hours, but that is a maximum rather than a target. Empty it sooner if your flow requires it, and follow the product instructions. When you are still learning, a backup liner and an extra change before a long activity can make the routine easier to manage.

Check fit before a busy or active day

Insert the cup calmly and check that it has opened. If you feel persistent pressure, pain, or rubbing, remove it and reassess the position or size. A cup should not be presented as a way to improve fitness, reduce stress, or guarantee freedom from leaks; its role is period collection.

Make cleaning practical

Wash your hands before insertion and removal. Empty and clean the cup according to its instructions. Away from home, plan for access to clean water or another method permitted by the care guide, then clean it properly when facilities are available.

Consider cost and waste realistically

A reusable cup can reduce purchases and disposal of single-use period products. Actual savings and environmental impact depend on how often it is used, how it is cleaned, how long it remains in good condition, and which products it replaces. With proper care, Elys Cup is designed to last up to 5 years.

Choose without pressure

A cup can be useful on some days and less practical on others. Pads, tampons, period underwear, or a combination may suit a particular routine better. Use the option that works safely and comfortably for you, and seek medical advice for persistent pain or other health concerns.

Workouts: test before relying on the cup

Try Elys Cup during ordinary movement and a short, low-pressure session before using it for a long workout or a full day away from home. Move through the positions your activity requires and notice persistent pressure, rubbing or pain. Remove and reassess rather than continuing through discomfort. A cup does not improve fitness, energy, recovery, productivity or parenting capacity; it simply collects menstrual flow.

No leak-free promise

No menstrual product can guarantee that every workout or busy day will be leak-free. A cup may leak because it has not opened fully, is poorly positioned, has reached capacity, or is not the right fit. Flow can also vary. During learning, a liner or another familiar backup may be useful. Check the cup before a long activity and empty it when your flow requires, even when that is earlier than the maximum wear time.

Facilities, symptoms and personal choice

Include travel, school runs, work and exercise in the time since insertion. Plan access to a private toilet, clean hands and an approved cleaning method. If facilities are limited, use another product rather than extending wear beyond 8 hours. Seek medical advice for persistent pelvic pain, fever, unusual irritation or other concerning symptoms. Parents are not a single clinical user group: preferences and needs differ, and combining products is a valid choice.
